During Onboarding

LawToolBox uses a Deployment Guide tool https://deploy.lawtoolbox.com to automate the steps in Microsoft 365. This step must be done by a Microsoft 365 Global Admin.

What the Deployment Guide does:

  • Asks for Application Permissions
  • Asks for Deployment Guide Permissions
  • Asks you to identify users from your active directory who will need the LawToolBox app.
    • Creates a M365 User Group in your tenant
    • Users this group to centrally deploy the app
  • Asks you to deploy the add-in for Office Apps (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Copilot, etc.)
    • Centrally deploys the app to the user group created in the previous step
    • Run Exchange Mail Flow rules to keep notifications out of the inbox for those users
  • Asks you to purchase the SaaS app in the Microsoft Marketplace
    • LawToolBox is also available via Pax8, TD SYNNEX, Crayon, Sherweb, etc.
    • Select your SKU for how many licenses you need
    • Follow the prompts in the marketplace to process your order
    • Click on the “Configure Account” link to create your LawToolBox account

End Results
  1. Group created
  2. Application deployed
  3. Mail flow rules added
  4. Permissions granted
  5. Licenses purchased
  6. Account created
    • Configure account > admin.lawtoolbox.com > firm settings & manage users
    • add or remove users as your team changes
    • https://admin.lawtoolbox.com
  7. Test Matter and Deadline

Onboarding status: Done

When your account is fully configured, you should have a user group created, application deployed, permissions granted, licenses purchased, mail flow rules added in Microsoft 365.

Your LawToolBox account created, customized and users added. Test the application and move forward with training.
